       Respose

http://mashable.com/2010/01/23/napping-ttc-twitpic/

That was a cool story. Wow! its amazing how so mnay things spread so fast on the Internet  from only one photo. So much people comment it on it, some where mad and some where happy that they got free subs.

I think that its acceptable, because if the man cant stay up while doing his work, or at his work then he shouldnt be doing this job. From my understanding from the story he works for 24 hours  if he cant stay up for 24 hours then he should get enough sleep at home then start looking for a job. Because he is getting paid for his job so its not faire for him just sleeping at work.

My Special Day!

Eid is coming
I just can’t wait
Time to get ready
and CELEBRATE!

Eid Mubarak to everyone come on
let’s have lots of fun!

Now that we fasted and did extra good deeds,
we celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the two Eids

We all went to the mosque to pray
People are grateful, it’s a special day.

“Mmmm”… the taste of the delicious food
really puts you in a good mood.

Were all wearing our posh clothes
and the guys are cruising in their
Flashy cars on the roads.

Opening our gifts with smiles
on our faces and having fun going
out to different places.

All of a sudden the day comes to an end
Well what can I say…
Thank you for a lovely day!!!

Rapid write- (16 years old)

Do you think that a 16 year old teenager is responsible enough to own a car?

The reason why I think 16 year olds should be able to drive is because their parents aren’t going to drive them everywhere. Also, I think a sixteen year old is responsible enough. And also they could car pool to school with their friends.

First off, their parents can’t drive them everywhere. They had to when they were born until they were 15 years old. Secondly, they are responsible. Just let them drive! They may do something irresponsible every once in a while, but who doesn’t do something irresponsible. I mean they have matured a lot. So just relax most teens can handle themselves, but there are some exceptions.

Finally, if you would let them drive they could car pool. Then they could get to school faster and safer because there wouldn’t be as many cars. So for goodness sake just trust them and let them drive, but maybe not your $50,000 car. But still if you can trust them let them. How can they get more responsible if you don’t let them gain more trust.

Almost Everyone Has a Cell Phone These Days, but is it Really a Good Thing?

A cell phone is still a hot commodity these days. Basically everyone has one, and basically everyone uses one. You can guarantee that every time you leave your house where you see other people, that you will see a cell phone. These days’ cell phones aren’t aren’t only for calls, which adds to their amount of use. You can do almost anything with your phone, such as surf the web, play games, make calls, and so much more. A cell phone has become so much more than a phone, and has been reflected in the price

Now a days you see everyone with a cell phone, but you don’t always see them actually talking on it. There is another way to communicate now instead of just talking on the phone, which is what a lot of people do. This method is called texting. If you aren’t familiar with texting, it is when you type a message on your phone and then send it to someone. Texting is good for those times when you just can’t talk, or just don’t feel like talking. You can also send pictures with a message by texting as well. This is basically the same thing as texting, only you send a picture instead. You don’t really communicate this way, but it is another way the phone is used.

A lot of people these days are using their phone for a lot more than just communicating. These people can be seen either playing games, using the web, or using many of the other features that are offered. As technology in phones has increased, as has the way you can surf the web with phones. When web surfing first came out, it was extremely hard to use, and you could never get to normal sites, only those sponsored by your provider. Now that the technology has gotten better, web surfing has become a lot easier, and has almost made your phone into a small computer to surf.

Games are also a big feature with phones now. Many games are relatively inexpensive, and are always with you. You can find many of your classic or favourite games to purchase, and play whenever you want. Obviously the controls aren’t going to be as good as your favourite gaming system, but the games are pretty good for a phone.

  Microwave

Microwave ovens are a great time saver in the kitchen. In just a few minutes, we can heat up our dinner, even make a bowl of porridge for breakfast or make popcorn for a snack.

However, the controversy over the safety of microwaves has been growing for years. Some people believe that microwaved food is not quite the same as food cooked with a conventional heating source. Microwave cooking is one of the most important causes of ill health. It is certainly one of the most ignored. There have been very few scientific studies done on the effect of eating food microwaved food. This is rather surprising when you think about the fact that microwaves have been with us for only a few decades – and that in that time the incidence of many diseases has continued to increase.

Who knows what results they would have found if they had studied people who ate microwaved food for a year or more?

Microwaves cause a significant loss of nutrients in food; it destroys the nutritional value of protein in meat. Instead of cooking your vegetables in the microwave, why not steam them instead. It would appear that steaming is the best way to avoid losing valuable nutrients. So just to be on the safe side, it is best to stand back from your microwave when it’s running.

Rapid write- (Summer vs. winter)

summer vs winter image

Summer vs. winter

…The warm weather? Or, is it winter because of the snow and Christmas? Summer and winter have few similarities, yet many big differences. There is a lot of reasons that would make you like summer better than winter. No morning rush, No battling traffic for school drop-offs and pick-ups, no homework, no extracurricular activities, no academic pressure, no worrying about school screw-ups, you can travel, and leisure time.

The first big difference between summer and winter is the weather. In the summer time it is usually warm and sunny and fun to be outside. You can go swimming, to the beach, camping, go boating, and all of those fun summer activities everyone looks forward to. In the winter time most people think of coldness. In the winter you see a lot about car accidents do to the messy weather, but in the summer you don’t so much.

Many people hate winter, because it is so cold and miserable. The cold temperatures and weather can greatly affect your mood and emotional habits. It’s the time of year when people are reporting feeling depressed because of the dark, cold winter months. The less sunlight, the more down people feel.

Another thing is that you don’t have school in the summer. You can enjoy a great amount of free time and do pretty much whatever you want. In the winter time everyone is going crazy over Christmas, shopping, and traveling to see relatives. Summer is a very lazy and relaxed enjoyable season. Winter is busier, and there sometimes where family conflicts because of this holiday season. In the summer, you can also visit family and friends, but without the inconvenience of bad weather.

In summer there is less pollution than winter and here’s one example. In winter you have to turn on your car 5 to 10 minutes before riding it.  And in summer you need to get in your car and started directly and get over the road. Or you can just go biking, or walking, and maybe jogging which is good for your health. You use low electric and gas bills- and fewer fill-ups for the car (no driving to school).

The most things I hate about winter are that it is cold. This is the only the reason I need to dislike winter but I’ll continue. Waking up when it’s too cold to get out of bed… then missing the bus. Having to bring an extra pair of shoes to school because my first pair gets covered in mud and slush by the time I reach the bus stop. Getting a cold or the flu. No more summer fruit – grapes, watermelon, nectarines, plums, peaches etc. doing homework when my brain’s too frozen to even think. It is cold and cold is bad. Winters are always cold and harsh in many countries. The ice, snow, wind, rain, fog and dark environment all contribute to hazardous road conditions. The combination of all the above factors leads to many winter road accidents every year.

The use of Internet!

                                                      The use of Internet

The Internet is an amazing tool which can instantly connect you to people and information all over the world, but do you ever find yourself spending lots of time on the net, surfing for information, checking your e-mails, playing video games or watching videos on you tube?

I’m the kind of person that uses the net for almost everything, but not the best at it. The most important reason I use the internet is to connect with my family and friends that I left behind. I have families almost in five different countries. But most of them are in Syria (Damascus). My point is if there wasn’t Internet, I couldn’t talk to them, or see how there doing? Anything new happened? You know this kina a thing. My family and I use the Internet –Skype to contact with my family. You can also see them through webcam. So can you imagine if there was no Internet or Skype, what would we have to do?

If Internet wasn’t invented what would I have to write about? A basketball player, a prime minister, or who invented…, and maybe a musician. Well you know what; if I choose any of those people, I don’t think I’m going to have enough information to write about them! I would have to write about their personal life, why did they choose to be… how did they come that way? What did they do? So I’m obviously not going to know all that. I would have to go to the internet, and find all the information about them. Therefore, if the internet wasn’t invented I wouldn’t know anything about these people; I would have had to choose someone I know lots of information about.

There is lots of use in the internet. There is lots of websites and blogs that you can use, like for example: msn, facebook, hotmail, g-mail and yahoo. These are the kind of websites where you can chat with friends, from all around the world. Like I know that I use msn to talk to friends, maybe I can ask them about homework, or maybe if you were bored you can play a game with them or you can also go on webcam, if you’re talking to someone in a different country, and you really miss them, so I think that pretty cool! The use of facebook is you can add photos of you, and others can comment. You can also look at other peoples profiles and also comment if you want. Hotmail is a really good account, because I send finished essay’s to my teachers. Cool e-mails to friends. I find all of these websites really good and useful. You can use it for fun or work!

Do you think that you can stay a week or so without using the net? If you ask me I’ll say that I can’t even stay without it for not even 2 days!

Bitstrips!

For nearly a month I’ve been playing with Bitstrips. It’s a website that allows people without talent and/or time to quickly throw together their own comic strips using simple, flash based tools. Normally, that would be cool enough. Hey, did you see the comic I’ve made? It’s easy to do and fun at the same time. My comic was a main part in the novel “Speak”. It was about a girl named Melinda Sordino who was reasonably normal, until she went to a party towards the end of summer, before high school started. Melinda started dancing and “IT” came up and whisked her away to the woods, then he raped her. She was so stunned she ran back into the party to call the police for assistance.

From then on, when Melinda started high school, she was known as the freak, tattle-tail, that ended the party. Melinda became an outcast, and was ignored, and pushed around. She couldn’t seen to “speak” up about what had really happened. In the book we hear all her inner thoughts as she struggles to find her voice.

Speak!

Melinda’s struggle with the tree assignment in art class is symbolic of her struggle to “speak”.

I do believe that Melinda’s struggle with her assignment is symbolic of her struggle to speak, because when she does her art she thinks that everything has to be perfect, and Ivy helped her with that, when Melinda was working on her drawing. Also, when she speaks she also thinks that everything must be perfect or everything in her life will come tumbling down. (e.g. at the party she couldn’t say no and look where that got her) so I think that all of Melinda’s problems that she has are directly related to her experience at the party and what Andy Evans did to her.

I also think that there is a connection between the tree and Melinda’s emotions. Melinda has all of these emotions, bottled up inside of her because she has no one to tell them to, and with her drawing she doesn’t know how to express her feelings so her tree always looks dull and boring, which makes her even more frustrated with herself and it creates a vicious cycle.
